with their upcoming radiothon fundraising event.
What is the WishBone?
The WishBone is a unique "roof sit" radiothon hosted by radio station 107.7 The Bone to help raise funds for the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. The on-air DJs will be up on a roof during their live broadcast and remain there until the goal is reached. Special VIP guests and celebrities will join them for special hours to help raise awareness and funds for Bay Area children.
When will it happen?
Non-stop from 3pm Thursday, November 11 and continue until the goal is reached! (Our guesstimates have us celebrating victory in reaching our goal sometime in the evening of Saturday, November 13.)
What is the goal?
$500,000 in contributions - 100% going to the local Make-A-Wish Chapter!
Where is the roof?
Adjacent to the Grand Hyatt directly on Union Square!
How does the radiothon work?
Listeners to 107.7 The Bone during the radiothon will hear ongoing information about Make-A-Wish in between The Bone's musical selections. Volunteers will be answering phones-some callers will be interviewed on air. Special thank you gifts from corporate sponsors, as well as dollar-for-dollar matching "Power Hours", and of course testimonials from wish families, celebrities and donors will also be highlighted. The broadcast will also be available on the web. Listeners will be invited to join us live for special meet/greet opportunities with the celebrities and wish children and can participate in a silent auction that will feature concert tickets, rock memorabilia and Bay Area sports auction items. Other opportunities for online donations and text message donations will be available.
