Dear Customer,

We want to contact you regarding some new technology with your Vertical Wave telephone system. Vertical has released a new software, Release 5.0. This major release provides some nice new features, but most importantly, it provides a path to upgrade the current server platform from a Microsoft 2003 server to a Microsoft 2008 server platform. This is an important step because Microsoft has ended its support on 2003 server last year. (Release 5.0 runs on 2008 servers only, so a migration will be needed should you want to get to release 5.0)

In addition to the server upgrade, there are some other new features as well which are listed below. It is important to note, that if your current release is 3.0 or older, a newer chassis will be required to support Release 5.0. Newer servers may simply require a field upgrade.

While you are not required to upgrade to Release 5.0, Vertical will be limiting their support on older systems, and with the end of life of Microsoft 2003 server, ongoing support will become more limited. ATS will continue to support all generations of Wave systems, but our resources for support on the older Vertical Wave systems may be limited moving forward.

Vertical does have a migration promotion currently running (ending March 31, 2016) to help make this process as smooth as possible. Specific pricing is dependent on the age of your current server, the current level of software and whether you have active subscriptions. This promotion also allows for clients not under subscriptions to get back into subscriptions without any "catch up" premiums or penalties.
