ATS Communications - Your Business Technology Partner

916 Area Code Change and 279 Area Code Overlay

To our 916 area code clients:

As your technology partner, part of our role is to keep you informed and educated on changes that might affect the way you use your technology. We suspect many of you are already aware of this change, but it case you have not, or are curious of how it affects you, ATS is sharing the attached summary announcement of the 916 area code change and the introduction of the 279 area code overlay.

What it means for callers in the 916 area code?

People with a current 916 number now need to dial a 10 number for every call, including other callers in the 916 area code.

Do I need to do anything with this change?

All you need to remember is to now use the 10 digit numbering for every call (1+ area code + xxx-xxxx)

If you have speed dial programmed in your system that you use regularly, you may need to re-programmed to add the “1” plus area code, then the phone number as well.

If you are having problems making outbound calls, call the ATS Service Center (800-995-4287) for assistance.

Sincerely,

Team ATS
