Windows 10 End of Life Looming - What if I do nothing?
As we shared earlier, Microsoft has announced the official end of life date for Windows 10 will be October 14, 2025. If you haven’t already made plans, now is the time to plan for migrations and/or upgrades now to eliminate potential operational disruption to your organization. Some have asked what if I do nothing? What will happen? Let’s explore this more closely. What if I do Nothing? While doing nothing is technically an option because your system will continue to operate, it is not a very smart option that will only create more challenges further down the road. Keeping the status quo creates significant risks and exposures to individuals and businesses:
• Increased Security Risks and Vulnerabilities: We continue to focus on the importance of security because it is that important. Once support ends, security ends. As stated earlier, you may become a prime target for an attack. Trying to recover from a cyber incident will be much more costly and disruptive than any migration. A software or hardware migration is a known cost and can be planned and will have minimal business disruption. A cyberattack can stop you from conducting any business instantly and last for weeks or months and can literally put you out of business. Additionally, running on an unsupported OS will negate any cyber insurance policy that you might have in place. Want to discuss this further and review your specific environment?
