Mitel Acquisition of Toshiba

Since Toshiba made its announcement in Spring of 2017, a lot has happened both internally and externally with relation to the future of the Toshiba products.

Mitel announced the Toshiba product roadmap to the Toshiba channel and it was all good news. Below are some highlights.

The CIX, IPedge and VIPedge are all staying as active viable products!

That's right, we can still offer these products to clients to help maximize their Toshiba investment. Below are the Mitel branded product brochures for these products. So we can still add sites and users without concern for parts or availability. In fact, Mitel announced that they have committed to a new production order for inventory for CIX and IPedge parts! This is great news as Toshiba clients can update their technology at their pace and no longer have to think of making it a higher priority in the next 18-24 months.

The National Account Program for Toshiba clients has been re-instated!

Mitel has recognized the value of this unique program and has re-instated it for all existing Toshiba National Accounts and National Account prospects. This program is only for the CIX/IPedge products and not the MiVoice products at this time. All pricing for parts and labor are back in place.

5 year extended warranties and 3 year SUS and renewals are re-instated.

Great news for new sales and support of existing systems.

What's the Roadmap with Mitel?

While the CIX and IPedge are staying active products, Mitel's strategy for application delivery is via cloud integration instead of onsite box applications. Their plan is to keep the Toshiba endpoints in place but integrate the Toshiba boxes (IPedge first, then CIX) via their proprietary Mitel Cloud Link to the Mitel applications accessible to the end users. The first release of this integration is expected in the first half of 2018. This allows for a great story for end users so they can see how they can access Mitel technology with Toshiba endpoints.
